Memory Pharmaceuticals ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF DENNIS M. KEANE
Montvale, New Jersey - January 12, 2004 - Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp., a privately held company that is developing drugs for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases announced today the appointment of Dennis M. Keane as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Keane brings to the company more than twenty-five years of experience in finance and management within the pharmaceutical, health care and specialty chemicals industries. Mr. Keane will lead the company's financial operations at Memory, where he will report to Tony Scullion, Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Keane most recently served as Vice President Finance and Treasurer at Ciba Specialty Chemicals where he directed the Treasurer and Controller activities for the company's North America Region. Prior to this position, Mr. Keane was Vice President, Finance and Business Development at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) U.S. Pharmaceuticals with leadership responsibilities for finance, information technology, business development and medical education services. In addition to his responsibilities on a functional level, he also served as a member of the senior decision making team for the U.S. Pharmaceuticals business and the global CNS therapeutic area drug development review board. Before joining Ciba, Mr. Keane began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Keane received a BS degree in Accounting at Manhattan College, and is also active in the community serving in a leadership health care trustee role for Riverside Health Care Systems and St. John's Hospital.
